FAQs

Q?What time do I need to be there before the start?
A.

If you have already picked up your race packet before race day (November 5, 2017), we recommend that you arrive at American Academy of Family Physicians no later than 7:15am.  You will want to allow time to get hydrated, meet other participants, etc.  If you need to pick up your packet, the registration tables will be open at 6:45am.

Q?Can I register on the day of the race?
A.

Yes.  Registration tables will be open at 6:45am and will remain open throughout the event for registration, donations and for general information.  The last day to register on-line will be Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at 11:59PM.  You can also register during our packet pickup times as well.

Q?Can I pick up a race packet for someone else?
A.

Yes, but make sure they are aware of it so they don’t show up and find it already picked up.

Q?Where should I park?
A.

Parking is available at the American Academy of Family Physicians on the south side of the building.  There is plenty of parking for everyone.

Q?What happens if I register & pay and I get injured or sick or I don’t attend the race? Can I give my entry to someone else, or get my money back?
A.

Sorry, this is a charity event and all entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.  No exceptions and thank you for your understanding.

Q?Can I run with my dog?
A.

Sorry, dogs are not allowed on the race course.

Q?Do you allow baby jogger/strollers?
A.

Yes, but for everyone’s safety they must start at the back of the race field and walk only during the event.  Running or jogging while pushing a stroller is not allowed.  Following these guidelines will prevent accidents as well as avoid harm to yourself and others runners.

Q?How do I know if I can walk the 5K?
A.

A 5K walk is approximately 3.1 miles.  If you can walk for an hour or so you should have no problem covering that distance.

Q?Do I have to be a runner to participate?
A.

No! We will have many walkers who will take part in the event.

Q?I’m a very slow runner. Can I still run the race?
A.

Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome. If you’re relatively slow, however, you should stay towards the right hand side of the course. Be sure not to stop suddenly or veer into the paths of other runners. If you’re running with friends, run no more than two abreast. Doing this will keep traffic on the course moving smoothly.

Q?When will race results be posted?
A.

The results will be posted on the KC Running Company website on the afternoon of November 5, 2017.

Q?Is the Diabetes Dash For Life 5K a timed event?
